ABOUT YESER BERRO

Yeser Berro is a Syrian multidisciplinary artist working across literature, photography, and film in an attempt at expressing the contemporary Syrian experience and examining post-war trauma.

His first novel "Song of Harsh Spring" received a publishing grant from Ettijahat's Laboratory of Arts Program and was published in 2024 by Mamdouh Adwan Publishing House.

He takes most of his photographs using an old Zenit ET camera, utilizing expired film remaining from pre-war times to take photographs that try to capture the haunted reality of present-day Syria.
